Before you go live

Can I stream pre-recorded videos live on YouTube?

Yes. YouTube accepts a standard encoder feed, and a cloud encoder can produce that feed from videos and playlists you own. The content still has to follow YouTube's copyright, community, and monetization policies.

Does my computer need to stay on?

No. Once your media is uploaded and the stream starts, LiveGoLive runs the encoder in the cloud. Your browser and home internet connection are no longer in the broadcast path.

Do I have to share my Google password?

No. Connect with YouTube uses Google's authorization flow, while manual mode uses a stream key copied from YouTube Studio. Neither path asks you to give LiveGoLive your Google password.

What happens when YouTube reaches its archive boundary?

Connected mode can rotate the viewer-facing broadcast while keeping the persistent stream path running. Manual stream-key mode keeps pushing the stream but leaves broadcast and archive management to you in YouTube Studio.
